the region

CardioNet,
Inc., a leading global provider of ambulatory cardiac monitoring devices, has
expanded its operations into Phoenix.
Headquartered
in Conshohocken, Pa., CardioNet is known for its patented technology in cardiac
monitoring. The Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry system is the first device
to provide real-time ECG monitoring and 24/7/365 analysis and response for
patients and their doctors.
The
firm’s Phoenix location represents an expansion of the company’s repair and
distribution operations and allows CardioNet to better serve West Coast
customers.
“Phoenix
was the clear choice as the city that offered the economic advantages and the
human resources CardioNet needs to continue our growth,” said Randy Thurman,
the company’s chairman and CEO. “CardioNet's strategy is to continue to be the
leader in bringing wireless healthcare innovation to the patients and
physicians who rely upon us. Phoenix will be a great partner in achieving
that strategy.”
CardioNet
worked with City of Phoenix staff to utilize the recruitment services provided
by the Phoenix Workforce Connection to complete their first round of hiring.
"CardioNet's announcement today to expand their operations in Phoenix
brings great news of more jobs by an industry leader in healthcare
innovation," said Mayor Phil Gordon. "Phoenix's strategic
access to West Coast markets, growing economy and talented workforce make it a
great fit for CardioNet."
Additionally,
the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Arizona Department of Commerce and City
of Phoenix staff assisted CardioNet with market information, comparative
operating analysis and site selection.
“We
are pleased CardioNet has expanded into Phoenix,” said Barry Broome, president
and CEO of GPEC. “As a top medical device company, their presence strengthens
the region’s healthcare industry.”
The
CardioNet monitoring system helps the physician to quickly identify and
quantify a patient’s cardiac rhythm problems. CardioNet automatically detects
and transmits arrhythmic events without any patient interaction - an important
advantage since many arrhythmic events are symptom-free.
