GPEC President and CEO Barry Broome to leave GPEC, Camacho to serve as Interim President
December 19, 2014

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council president and CEO Barry Broome has announced his intention to assume the role of president and CEO of the newly formed Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council.

Broome began his tenure with GPEC in February 2005, and has since elevated the organization’s and the region’s importance on the national stage. Under Broome’s leadership, GPEC has attracted more than 260 companies, nearly 50,000 jobs and more than $8 billion in capital investment to the region. In his nearly 10 years, he has developed and implemented several strategic initiatives and worked on legislative policies, which have been instrumental in raising the region’s competitive position.

During the search for Broome’s replacement, GPEC’s Executive Vice President Chris Camacho will assume the interim role of president of the organization.

We wish Barry a very successful future and thank him for his unwavering dedication and service to the region and to this organization.
