Solar Impulse's cool global mission

Earlier this week, a few lucky GPEC staffers were able to tour the Solar Impulse, a solar-powered airplane on a coast-to-coast tour of the U.S. during its stop in Greater Phoenix. The project, led and co-piloted by Bertrand Piccard, who co-piloted the first balloon around the world, and Andre Borschberg, has the ultimate goal of circumnavigating the globe. During a briefing by Dr. Piccard and his crew, GPEC’s Rudy Vetter, Mara Pernick and Matt Miller learned more about the project’s global mission and history.
