Amanda Straight joined GPEC in April 2015. In her current role as Director of Market Research, she leads the market intelligence program, which produces in-depth industry research on key sectors of the Greater Phoenix economy. In addition, she provides research support for the organization’s long-term strategic initiatives and business attraction activities.
Prior to GPEC, she worked as an economist for the Office of Employment and Population Statistics at the Arizona Department of Administration, where she collected, coded and processed occupation and wage information. She also previously worked as a planning intern for the City of Phoenix’s Bicycle Program.
Amanda completed her master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from Arizona State University in 2013. A Hoosier native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from Indiana University in 2011, after which she moved to Arizona to escape the snow. She enjoys hiking, reading and watching TV with her dog, Sparky.
