As Senior Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs, Michelle Kauk plays a strategic role in advancing the Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s mission and message through public relations, media and communications campaigns. Additionally, Michelle oversees the legislative outreach for the organization, as well as investor engagement and corporate development.
She brings nearly 15 years of public affairs experience, having worked at the local, state and federal levels, specializing in coalition building, message development, strategic management of legislative agendas and public policy issues.
Prior to her time at GPEC, Michelle worked as the Director of Government Affairs & Research for HAI Group (Conn.), intergovernmental relations coordinator for the Town of Gilbert, and served as a staff assistant to U.S. Senator John McCain in the Phoenix office.
Michelle currently serves on the board of directors for Gilbert Leadership, and is a Class XVIII graduate. She also spends her time with the Banner Health Foundation Pulse of the City Soiree, and the ASU School of Public Affairs Advisory Council.
Kauk earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in communications and a master’s in public administration from Arizona State University. She resides in Gilbert with her husband and two dogs.
