Job Overview

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) is seeking a Director of International Business Development to help plan & execute GPEC’s FDI & international business attraction strategy. This position will report to the SVP of Business Development & will work closely with members of the business development team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist w/ planning & executing GPEC’s FDI & international business attraction strategy, including:
    • Managing clients through the entire prospect journey (lead to locate)
    • Attend and give client pitches
    • Organize site visits
    • Identify and execute business attraction strategy at internationally focused conferences
  • Help with planning and executing inbound missions from international delegations
  • Manage & organize the GPEC Envoy Network
  • Serve as the team lead for the Global Growth Accelerator, GPEC’s soft landing program for international companies
  • Represent GPEC in various internationally focused groups in the region (Global Chamber, Phoenix Council on Foreign Relations, Thunderbird School of Global Management, etc.)
  • Lead planning and execution of quarterly International Leadership Council meetings
  • Track key international developments impacting foreign companies’ ability/interest in investing in the US

Requirements, Qualifications and Desired Traits

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience working in economic development and/or international business-related functions
  • Experience working with foreign companies
  • Foreign language skills preferred but not required
  • Experience using a CRM system, specifically Salesforce to input data & track client interactions
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Driven, focused work ethic and strong accountability
  • Highly motivated to learn, grow professionally and work in a team environment
