Trends We’re Watching on Empowering Black Businesses

Please join us for this discussion in partnership with the State of Black Arizona focused on building supportive ecosystems that enable Black entrepreneurs to ideate and thrive, emphasizing key areas such as financial literacy, intergenerational wealth transfer, and equitable credit and lending practices.

We will explore the role of local government in creating policies and interventions that promote fairness and inclusivity and explore how expanding training opportunities for youth alongside small businesses and fostering mentorship programs are essential for preparing the next generation of Black entrepreneurs. Through collaborative efforts and targeted support, we can develop a robust framework that addresses current needs and paves the way for a prosperous future for Black businesses in Arizona.

Key topics of discussion:

  • Financial Literacy
  • Intergenerational Transmission of Wealth

  • Role of Credit and Lending Practices

  • Training Opportunities for Youth alongside Small Businesses

  • Role of Local Government

Each topic will have a dedicated break out group where attendees will be able to join the group of their choosing to share their insights and discuss what’s needed in the region.
