John Carter Owens has been with GPEC since May 2017 and serves as a research analyst. In his role, John works to both build a compelling business case for Greater Phoenix and enhance regional competitiveness.
Prior to joining GPEC, John worked for the Speaker Pro Tem of the Colorado House of Representatives. While there, he worked on a number of topics, including the Tech Hire initiative with the White House. John is currently in the process of earning a M.A. in Public Policy from Arizona State University. He earned his B.A. from Tulane University in Political Science in 2014 and his M.A. in Urban in Environmental Planning from Arizona State University in 2018.
John is an active member of the Greater Phoenix community. He currently serves on the board of Swift Youth Foundation, where he is also Arizona Gives Day chair. John was also a member of the 2017 Valley Leadership Advance cohort, a program for emerging leaders in Greater Phoenix.
