Intern, Government and Community Affairs
Larissa Atkinson joined GPEC as an intern for Government and Community Affairs in March 2021. She is currently serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and is participating in the DoD SkillBridge Internship Program as she prepares to transition from active duty to a civilian career later this year.
Larissa joined the military in 2013 and has served as an Aviation Resource Manager. In this role, she oversaw and coordinated the training requirements and career portfolios for aviators in South Korea, South Carolina, and Arizona. Prior to her selection for the internship with GPEC, she was chosen for a special assignment with the Luke AFB Protocol Office where she managed Air Force official ceremonies and was responsible for coordinating and conducting dignitary agendas and tours for distinguished visitors such as the U.S. Secretary of Defense and foreign ambassadors.
Larissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration with a focus in Health Information Management from Capella University. She is currently pursuing a certification as an Associate of Project Management from the Project Management Institute prior to the commencement of her Graduate Degree Program in Project Management this spring.
