Tell us a little about yourself:

I’m originally from India and came to the U.S. in August 2025 to pursue my Master’s in Global Management at the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. This was my first time ever traveling outside of India and I came here with big dreams, a lot of hope and just two suitcases! I love meeting people from different countries and backgrounds, hearing their stories and perspectives is something that genuinely excites me. I enjoy exploring new places, going on hikes and catching Arizona’s breathtaking sunsets. I absolutely love traveling. My dream is to see the whole world!

Where are you originally from and what brought you to Greater Phoenix?

I am originally from India. Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University is what brought me to Greater Phoenix. Thunderbird is a globally renowned business school and pursuing my Master’s in Global Management here felt like the perfect step toward building a global career. Phoenix has truly become my home away from home and this journey has been one of the best decisions of my life!

How long have you lived in Greater Phoenix?

I have been living in Greater Phoenix since August 2025, so just about a year now. It has been an incredible journey of exploring, learning and growing, and I am still discovering so many amazing things this region has to offer!

Where do you currently work and what is your job title?

At the Greater Phoenix Economic Council as a Marketing & Communications Intern.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Greater Phoenix on the weekends?

On Fridays, I visit the Guru Nanak Dwara Gurdwara, which is a Sikh place of worship, and it always feels like a peaceful and grounding way to end the week. On weekends, my favorite thing is spending time with friends, whether that’s exploring a new spot, going for a hike or simply catching up over good food. Being so far from home, your friends truly become your family here and those moments together mean everything.

What’s something that has surprised you about Arizona?

Arizona has surprised me in so many ways. I expected just a hot desert, but the region has so much more to offer. From the breathtaking landscapes of Sedona and the Grand Canyon to the snow-covered mountains of Flagstaff, the diversity of nature here is truly stunning. I also love that almost every apartment has a swimming pool and a gym. The number of hiking spots across the region is incredible and of course, the sunsets here are absolutely gorgeous. Arizona is so much more than I ever imagined.
