Local interior construction and commercial furniture dealer Goodmans launches art show and mural at Phoenix office

As a leading economic development organization for regional growth and innovation, GPEC continually advocates for the advancement of the arts to inspire and connect communities. Among the organization’s efforts is the hosting and curating of a rotating local art exhibit to bridge the gap between the creative and business ecosystems.

Goodmans, known for constructing and designing workspaces where employees thrive, was energized by GPEC’s exhibition framework and recently developed its own exhibit at its newly remodeled Phoenix showroom. With guidance from local curator Melissa Koury, the Goodmans showroom now features a selection of works by 14 Arizona artists, bringing together high-caliber art and innovative design. To further support the selected artists, Goodmans incorporated a tiered honorarium structure to financially compensate the artists for their talent and time.

“Goodmans has more than 70 years of leadership designing inspiring spaces, and the addition of these artworks to our showroom serves as inspiration to both our team and clients,” said Adam Goodman, CEO of Goodmans.

Combining its commitment to the community with its increased focus on artistic talent, Goodmans also commissioned a mural by Quinn Murphy and Jake Early to support autism awareness. The collaboration resulted in a captivating and compelling piece that adorns the exterior of the showroom, sharing a message of inclusion and support while celebrating the impact of the neighboring Arizona Autism Charter School. Following the success of the initial partnership, a second mural by Murphy and Early is under development.

This multifaceted activation of art across the Goodmans showroom and exterior is a prime example of GPEC’s push to encourage innovation among creatives, residents and businesses alike by becoming The Most Decorated Region. Through this acclaim, GPEC aims to increase global awareness of and create future opportunities for the market’s vast arts and culture community.

GPEC’s commitment to nurturing the region’s cultural landscape is multiplied when businesses like Goodmans take bold steps to support local creativity, which ultimately drives economic growth and enriches communities.
