As a region, we’re on a relentless pursuit of innovation and technology, and companies here are committed to changing the game. It’s all about people, place and tech in Greater Phoenix. Learn more about Cognitir’s story from their CEO and Co-Founder Neal Kumar.

What is your company mission?

To help professionals and students acquire in-demand tech skills so they can be more data-driven and efficient in their jobs.

What city in Arizona is your company located in?

We are technically remote, but I guess you could say Scottsdale, AZ as that’s where I am based.

How did you come up with the idea for your company?

It was a problem I faced first-hand in business school. I realized that my technical knowledge was incredibly low and limiting my potential as a professional. As a result, I worked with my co-founder, David Haber, to assess this problem and make sure it was not just specific to me. It turns out, so far, thousands of individuals around the world feel similarly, and Cognitir has already been able to help thousands around the world obtain in-demand tech skills.

Explain why you chose Greater Phoenix to grow your company.

Because of the organization’s reputation in the Valley.

What makes your product/technology unique and different?

Unlike other boot camp schools, we don’t require many months of commitment. We utilize a proprietary intensive boot camp format to help professionals and students acquire skills in a very short amount of time. As a result, our attendees are motivated to continue practicing and applying the learned concepts far after they’ve taken courses with us.

Also, we focus purely on business and finance audiences. We aren’t focused on helping a non-technical person acquire technical skills to be able to work in that profession in the technology sector. We want to empower business and finance individuals so they can continue doing their jobs – but more efficiently and better with important tech skills in their arsenals!

In your opinion, why should someone work in tech in Greater Phoenix?

Cheaper costs and proximity to major tech hubs via short flights or drives.

Are you currently hiring? If so, what types of positions do you need filled now? What about in the future?

Yes! We are filling instructor positions and potentially business internships focused on growth marketing/strategy. If anyone is interested in working with us, they should a resume to info@cognitir.com! We are absolutely open to hearing how someone could add value to Cognitir outside of what I mentioned!
