As a region, we’re on a relentless pursuit of innovation and technology, and companies here are committed to changing the game. It’s all about people, place and tech in Greater Phoenix. Learn more about ZorroSign’s story from their Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Shamsh Hadi.

What is your company mission?

Shamsh Hadi: Leverage blockchain technology to deliver a lifetime of security and privacy for your digital signatures and documents that is easy-to-use and legally compliant.

What city in Arizona is your company located in?

Hadi: Phoenix

How did you come up with the idea for your company?

Hadi: In the 1990s, one of our co-founders introduced an innovative, new technology—the electronic signature pad. Today, companies and government agencies such as DMV, USPS, UPS and American Express continue to benefit from this technology. The electronic signature pad also served as a key technology component when former President Bill Clinton signed the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, also known as the “Millennium Digital Commerce Act” and the “E-SIGN Act” on June 30, 2000.

In 2015, ZorroSign was formed to advance from the current use of electronic signature technology to an advanced digital business platform (DBP). The idea is to provide a highly secure, private, flexible, seamless and robust solution to support end-to-end flow of document signature ceremonies for any situation, industry or department—for signatories located anywhere, using any device at any time. Today, our vision is to provide the most trusted and secure paperless experience by using this disruptive technology.

Explain why you chose Greater Phoenix to grow your company:

Hadi: After considering several markets in early 2020, ZorroSign chose the Phoenix market because of its supportive technology ecosystem, access to talent from top-ranked universities, pro-business and friendly regulatory environment, and the quality of life and affordability the region affords.

Why is Greater Phoenix a great place to develop, implement and scale this technology?

Hadi: We are very excited to establish our global operations hub in Greater Phoenix. The region offers a supportive ecosystem for a rapidly growing tech company like ours—with mechanisms in place at the academic, state and municipal levels—especially through the efforts of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) and the City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development teams which helped drive our decision to relocate our international headquarters.

As an initial phase of this move, ZorroSign has set up our global operations hub and headquarters at Grand Canyon University (GCU) Canyon Ventures Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The company will also establish links with blockchain-related research and development work at both GCU and Arizona State University (ASU) campuses, while accessing the excellent academic and business-building support that Canyon Ventures offers.

What makes your product/technology unique and different?

Hadi: ZorroSign is the best-in-class leader of a trusted, secure and private digital business platform (DBP). We provide our customers the world’s most secure and trusted platform in their transformation to a paperless life. ZorroSign technology unites digital signatures, a patent-pending 4n6 (“forensics”) blockchain token, workflow automation tools, a document management system built on blockchain architecture, plus AI/ML to reduce errors, and speed the creation and completion of digital forms.

Only ZorroSign

  • Was built on private, permissioned blockchain for most secure access, authentication, signing, storage, and audit trails

We embrace our corporate social responsibility seriously by making an environmental difference—planting trees, reducing water consumption and decreasing our carbon footprint.

In your opinion, why should someone work in tech in Greater Phoenix?

Hadi: The ZorroSign team chose the Phoenix market because of its supportive technology ecosystem, incredible access to talent from top-ranked universities such as ASU and GCU, and the Valley’s business-friendly regulatory environment. All these factors support the development of early-stage technology companies, as well as foster the growth of established firms like ours. The Phoenix business community has welcomed us with open arms—reinforcing our decision to move our global headquarters here.

Are you currently hiring? If so, what types of positions do you need filled now? What about in the future?

Hadi: Our relocation to Phoenix will create more than 300 jobs over the next three years—starting immediately with sales, support, marketing, development and technology roles.
