A story about work/life balance: Catherine

Published: 12/22/2020

I’m Catherine Spillman and I joined Voya Financial in the spring of 2020 as their Customer Contact Center Director. Since day one, it’s been evident to me that I made the right choice. Voya truly values each and every one of their employees. This is demonstrated through their numerous onboarding, training and development programs, that offers each team member a solid foundation from the get-go.

Being hired during these unprecedented times was nerve-racking, but Voya has given me the financial stability I was searching for. That stability, along with important benefits like health insurance for my family’s well-being, gives me the peace of mind I need to focus on building my career and giving back to the community around me.

My favorite thing about living in Greater Phoenix is the overwhelming sense of community. People are very eager to help each other out through random acts of kindness and through various charity organizations.“

“Greater Phoenix isn’t just a great place to do business. It’s a place where my family and I have been able to create the healthy work/life balance we cherish.”

When I’m not busy working, you can find my family and me around the Greater Phoenix area taking advantage of the fantastic weather we have here throughout most of the year. We love getting out on the weekends for a hike nearby, taking our dogs for a quick run, or enjoying sometime poolside – which in the Valley is something we can do nearly year-round. Greater Phoenix isn’t just a great place to do business. It’s a place where my family and I have been able to create the healthy work/life balance we cherish, in a community with like-minded individuals.
