How old are you?

21

How long have you lived in Greater Phoenix?

13 years

What city do you currently reside in?

Chandler

Did you grow up in Arizona?

Yes

Why did you decide to stay in here?

School, weather, convenience

Where are you originally from and why’d you decide to move to Arizona?

Chicago, I moved here because of my father’s work.

Where do you currently work and what is your title?

GPEC, Community Engagement and Events Intern.

What do you like to do in Greater Phoenix on the weekends?

Walk, I live in a really great neighborhood for walking. When everything is open, I also love to go to places like Old Town Scottsdale.

What’s your favorite restaurant and why?

Buffalo Wild Wings, this may be because I have not been in a while and I am currently craving wings. But it’s casual and easy to split with family and friends.

What’s your go-to staycation spot and why?

The Westin Kierland. My grandmother always stays there when she comes to visit so I get to go to an awesome hotel with plenty of things to do and I get to visit family.

How do you stay “cool” in the Arizona summers?

By staying indoors with, as I like to say, the “best air conditioning” in the world. I’ve been to multiple continents and more than 25 countries so I believe this is true but I may be biased.

What do you like about our winters and why?

They’re perfect for someone who is a wimp to the cold like me, despite being born in Chicago. Our winters offer the perfect balance of the gorgeous fall aesthetic and some of the winter chill we crave. Plus, if you want to see some snow, it’s only a few hours drive away. I would much rather drive to the snow on purpose, every once in a while, than to drive through the snow all the time. Also, we have “ice dens” (I have lived in six different locations in AZ, and I have never been more than 20 minutes away from one) if you want to do some ice skating – even in the 110 degree summer!

What do you love most about living in Greater Phoenix?

Everything is convenient and there is so much to do that you’ll never be bored. I have lived here for 13 years and I still find new things to do and places to see.
