Published: 11/04/2019

What is your first and last name?

Drew Callow

How old are you?

30

What city do you currently reside in?

Chandler

How long have you lived in Greater Phoenix?

Seven years

Why’d you decide to stay?

I was born in Phoenix and spent my first few years living in Prescott Valley before moving to Olathe, Kansas, where I spent 15 years living in various suburbs of Kansas City and Wichita. I loved my experiences growing up in the American heartland. However, I’ve always felt a strong bond with Phoenix and was very excited to move back and be close to my AZ family.

What college/university did you graduate from and what’s your degree?

I received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wichita State University (Go Shox!) and an MPA from Arizona State University (Fork ’em Devils!)

Where do you currently work and what is your title?

I just recently started working as a Research Analyst with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

What do you like to do in Greater Phoenix on the weekends?

Like every red-blooded millennial, I enjoy Phoenix’s awesome craft beer and restaurant scene. I also enjoy the art museums, going to shows at Comerica and The Van Buren, hiking with my wife and our dog, and spending time with family and friends.

What’s your go-to staycation spot and why?

The Arizona Grand has a pretty sweet water park! Perfect for summer staycations.

How do you stay “cool” in the Arizona summers?

I escape up north to Prescott or Flagstaff, really anywhere in the northern half of the state.

What’s your favorite restaurant and why?

It changes, but I really like Arizona Wilderness right now.

What do you like about our winters and why?

I can tease all my family and friends elsewhere about being buried in ice and snow while I’m wearing shorts and playing outside!

What do you love most about living in Greater Phoenix?

I love Phoenix’s unique cultural character. I also love having big city amenities while being just a short drive from the mountains, the ocean and so many other cool places.

Please include anything else you’d like to share about what makes Greater Phoenix so great.

I think Phoenix is uniquely positioned to be a cultural and economic leader for the future. It’s an exciting time to be here!
