Where are you originally from and why’d you decide to move to Arizona?
I am originally from Modesto, California; however, I served in the U.S. Coast Guard and went to college on the Post 9-11 GI Bill in San Diego, California. After several years working for the federal government in Washington, DC, I moved to Arizona to work at the world’s largest aerospace company.

What college/university did you graduate from and what’s your degree?
San Diego State University – Go Aztecs!

MA in Homeland Security

Where do you currently work and what is your title?
The Boeing Company; Sr. Manager, Global Security Operations Center

What do you like to do in Greater Phoenix on the weekends?
My kids are involved in sports, so, you’ll find me on the baseball diamond or the soccer field. We also enjoy trips to the Desert Botanical Garden and to the Phoenix Zoo.

What’s your go-to staycation spot and why?
The Ritz-Carlton and the Dove Mountain. The resort is beautifully situated in the mountains north of Tucson. The sunrises are amazing – and are even better with a cup of coffee.

What’s your favorite restaurant and why?
Caffe Boa in Tempe. Conveniently located. Sicilian Cioppino.

How do you stay “cool” in the Arizona summers?
A lot of air conditioning + splashpads, pools, restaurants with misters, and plenty of weekend getaways to San Diego.

What do you like about our winters and why?
Las Noches de Las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden – it’s the best event to take visiting family and friends during the holiday season.

What do you love most about living in Greater Phoenix?
Our quality of life. After living in other metropolitan areas, I enjoy the ease of living in Arizona.
