Job Overview

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the organization’s core mission to promote quality jobs and improve regional competitiveness. This position with GPEC’s Business Development team is responsible for supporting the team and helping increase transactions that achieve the goals of the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborating with the Business Development, Marketing and Research teams to understand and translate industry trends into business opportunities for this region
  • Tracking results and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of sales and prospecting activities in the CRM database (Salesforce)
  • Achieving an understanding of each community’s value proposition and targeting industries to effectively pitch the region
  • Developing customized solutions that meet prospects’ unique needs and aggressive timetables
  • Following up with prospects to ensure timely contact
  • Participating in targeted functions to build a network that can directly or indirectly help generate qualified prospects
  • Supporting prospect activities, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and prior economic development work experience preferred
  • Highly motivated who works well independently and with teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to present to clients and high-level decision-makers
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor always
