Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Research, review, compile, and process data and information on a broad range of topics related to economic development, industry sectors, and technology.

Collect and analyze data and information. Review and organize relevant data and documents from various sources (including proprietary and government databases) into research products that are shared with clients, investors and communities.

Analyze firm- and industry-level information and develop profiles and summaries.

Write summary reports and briefing memos. Assist with drafting and editing concept notes, memos, briefing documents, and reports.

Monitor and summarize current events and news as they pertain to specific research topics.

Scan for and quality control business lead targets.
Qualifications

College students in their junior or senior year. Master’s students preferred.

Major in economics, public policy/administration, science and technology, business, planning and urban development or related areas. Strong academic record.

Previous work experience desired.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) a plus.

Excellent attention to detail. Team player and fast learner.
Internship Details
This is an in-person internship at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s (GPEC) office in downtown Phoenix. Hourly wage begins at $15.75 per hour and increases after 6 months. We seek a commitment of 20 hours a week for at least 6 months.
