David Beckham

Chairman of the WIFA Board of Directors

David Beckham is the Chairman of the State of Arizona’s Water Infrastructure Finance Authority, through which the State committed $1.4 billion to help assure the State’s water future.  Mr. Beckham combines expertise in finance and project development with decades of involvement in water policy to foster the mandates of WIFA.

Mr. Beckham’s for-profit career has been in the finance and development industries.  He has partnered with some of the largest financial institutions and endowments in the country on projects in numerous States, including the largest equity financing in the hotel industry in the country one year.

While making a living in finance and development, Mr. Beckham’s passion on a not-for-profit basis has been to secure Arizona’s water future.  Over the past forty years, he has served in several capacities to foster this goal, beginning in the 1980s with a partnership with then-Congressman Eldon Rudd on a concept called “WAGE” (Water for Arizona’s Growing Economy) to garner support for raising Bartlett Dam, to recently a decade on the Board of The Nature Conservancy in Arizona, with a focus on water.

Mr. Beckham is a member of the State Bar of Arizona.  He has served on the Boards of numerous for-profit and non-profit organizations, such as the National Bank of Arizona and The Phoenix Thunderbirds.  He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was on the Editorial Board of the Law Review, and his B.S. from the University of Arizona, where he graduated With the Highest Distinction.
