Representing more than $50 million in investment, the facility will create up to 300 new jobs

MESA, Ariz. (Feb. 29, 2024) – Pentagon Technologies Group, Inc. (“Pentagon”, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kurita Water Industries Ltd.), a critical materials supplier of advanced chamber cleaning equipment consumables to leading-edge semiconductor foundries, today announced that it is building a new cleaning facility in Mesa, Arizona. The facility is expected to be operational in Q4 2024.

Pentagon’s project is underway with all required building and land acquisition, facility design, and permitting due diligence completed. Representing over $50 million in capital investment, the 65,500 square-foot space will be the company’s largest precision cleaning facility and use extensive cutting-edge technologies and optimized operation processes to align with the needs of fellow industry leaders. It will create up to 300 new jobs over the next several years.

Pentagon is a leading provider of mission-critical manufacturing and construction support services, contamination detection, and protection consumables to the semiconductor and microelectronics industries. Pentagon’s proprietary services and products improve the utilization, yield and life cycle of complex manufacturing equipment used in high technology fabrication — all of which improve fab productivity. Headquartered in Hayward, California, Pentagon has a global footprint of facilities in Arizona, California, Israel, Ireland, New York, Oregon, Texas and Japan (Kuritec Services), providing localized service to its clients’ facilities.

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Mesa in building a cutting-edge facility to support the growth of semiconductor fabs in Arizona. Our facility will have the capability to provide precision cleaning to industry leaders on the most advanced semiconductor tools in the industry,” said Dave Christeson, CEO of Pentagon. “We are excited to provide so many new jobs in such an exciting industry to people in the Mesa area.”

In June 2022, Pentagon became a wholly owned subsidiary of the ultimate parent company, Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (“Kurita”), which is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Kurita has operations in over 20 countries, and its business lines focus on comprehensive solutions through integrated diverse technologies, products and services in its three operational fields: water treatment chemicals, water treatment facilities and maintenance services. Kurita is a publicly traded company under Stock Ticker 6370 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

“The new Arizona facility is Kurita’s latest and largest strategic investment in the precision cleaning business in recent years,” said Shingo Yamaga, Chairman of the Board of Pentagon. “We are very honored to be able to make a significant contribution to our customers in the semiconductor industry and the local community through this new facility. We also believe that this investment is extremely important as Kurita expands its foundation to provide high-quality one-stop services to the world’s top customers in the semiconductor industry wherever and whenever they need.”

“We are excited industry leader Pentagon Technologies has chosen Arizona for its innovative semiconductor operations,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Pentagon Technologies’ new facility strengthens Arizona’s already robust semiconductor supply chain, which is the fastest-growing in the nation. We are grateful to Pentagon Technologies for its investment in Arizona and look forward to supporting the company’s success in Mesa.”

“Pentagon Technologies’ front-end support and technical site services add crucial elements to the semiconductor supply chain clustered in Greater Phoenix,” said Greater Phoenix Economic Council President & CEO Chris Camacho. “We are excited to welcome a competitive global company to Mesa.”

“Mesa has an important role to play in high-tech manufacturing and the semiconductor supply chain, and as part of that, we’re pleased to welcome Pentagon Technologies’ new facility,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “This is a substantial capital investment in our community that signifies the creation of hundreds of new jobs and further solidifies Mesa’s position as a hub for innovation and economic growth.”
