DaVita Rx announces specialty pharmacy opening in Chandler

DaVita Rx, a full-service specialty pharmacy for patients with complex conditions, announced they will open a new 76,000-square-foot facility in Chandler by early 2016. The pharmacy plans to hire 550 new employees in clinical, dispensing, customer service, insurance and specialty operations roles."DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. is a leading, national health care company, whose focus on patient care through innovation makes them a natural fit for the growing tech base in the Greater Phoenix region," said Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. Phoenix metro healthcare industry outpacing national...

GPEC’s Healthcare Leadership Council launched a new website designed to showcase the innovation capacity and robust ecosystems of the Greater Phoenix healthcare and bioscience sectors. PAC Worldwide expands to west Phoenix

August 11, 2015

PAC Worldwide, a manufacturer of flexible protective packaging, has opened a manufacturing location in Phoenix. The company also has manufacturing and distribution facilities in Ohio, Mexico and Malaysia with more than 700 people currently employed, and the new Phoenix facility will add more than 50 jobs.“The quick access to California creates an advantageous market for manufacturing, coupled with a large talented technical labor force and pro-business environment found in Greater Phoenix," said Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. Zenefits continues rapid growth with new office in...

Last fall, Zenefits announced its first major expansion out of San Francisco, as the company looked to further grow its operations. In just over six months, Zenefits has now announced a second site in Greater Phoenix with a new location in Tempe. “With small businesses across the country wanting to take the HR headaches out of managing their companies, the demand for our HR automation software is off the charts,” said Parker Conrad, CEO and co-founder of Zenefits. “With this fast growth, we need more people to join our team – and a place to put them. New day in Arizona for relationship with Mexico

GPEC President and CEO Chris Camacho recently joined Arizona Governor Doug Ducey during his first trade mission to Mexico. During the trip, the more than 40 business, university and government leaders met with Mexican business and government officials to discuss the important ties between Arizona and Mexico.“Arizona and Mexico share more than an important border for global commerce, but are also connected by the rich historical, social and cultural ties,” said Camacho. “Governor Ducey’s leadership, and the work of David Farca, president of the Arizona Mexico Commission, has set a new tone and reinvigorated dialogue with Mexico City.”Read the full release, here.

Mt. Baker Vapor to move operations to Mesa

June 11, 2015

One of the world’s largest online e-liquid producers and retailers, Mt. Baker Vapor, has officially announced their plans to relocate from Bellingham, Wash. to Mesa, Ariz. The decision came after the state of Washington introduced two bills that if passed would tax the sale of vaping equipment and ban online sales. “Mt. New metropolitan Phoenix export plan will help region’s...

A regional export plan for Greater Phoenix has been unveiled. The export plan assesses Greater Phoenix’s export climate, sets market-based goals for increasing exports and outlines specific steps that will be taken to promote the region’s economic development efforts. The plan will be overseen by the Metro Phoenix Export Alliance, a new organization composed of C-level industry executives, state leaders and university experts. “With this export plan, Greater Phoenix is acting on what our research shows is untapped potential to grow the region’s economy and support higher-quality jobs,” said Marek Gootman, Brookings director of strategic partnerships and global initiatives.Read more.

Booker expands operations to Scottsdale
