Logan Newman, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) marketing and communications director, supports GPEC’s digital presence with website build and management, long-form writing and SEO content optimization, and media engagement with local, national and international channels.
During his time at GPEC, Logan has built out webpages as part of award-winning programs including the industry overview use case documents and GPEC’s omnichannel campaign #AZFreeToBe, recognized for excellence in integrated marketing tactics. He helped drive over 1 billion impressions in media placements related to GPEC work with Taiwan and Taiwanese companies, and writes posts for the website on a variety of subjects ranging from Arizona water to public transportation and local industry ecosystems.
Logan joined GPEC as an intern in 2020 following a short but lively career in sports and news journalism with USA Today Sports Media Group, KTAR News and ArizonaSports.com. An Arizona native, he graduated from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2017 with a degree in journalism.
He is a staunch defender of the em dash, knows how to use semicolons but can’t always define it, and is undecided on the Oxford comma.
