A New Way to See Greater Phoenix

Artists are invited to offer fresh perspectives on the region — uncovering overlooked details, reframing familiar scenes and revealing new dimensions of life in Greater Phoenix. “A New Way to See” celebrates curiosity, reinterpretation and creative vision.

Works Might Express:

  • Unseen angles: intimate, abstract or unexpected viewpoints
  • Everyday moments: ordinary scenes transformed through artistic perspective
  • Light and landscape: how the desert environment shifts our perception
  • Personal narratives: individual experiences shaping how we see the region
  • Collective vision: how diverse viewpoints create a fuller picture of Greater Phoenix

Artist Prompts:

  • What do you see that others might miss?
  • How does your perspective reshape a familiar place?
  • What is hidden in plain sight in Greater Phoenix?
  • How does your lived experience influence how you see this region?
  • If someone new arrived tomorrow, what would you want them to notice?

This exhibit will not have an additional hybrid component beyond the selected pieces on display at GPEC’s downtown Phoenix office. Although the office is not open to the public, various private events bring viewers into the space. Those showcased in the physical space are welcome to visit once the installation is complete. All selected artists will be invited to attend the exhibit opening. Further details will be sent at a later time.

The exhibit is scheduled to run from May 1 – Oct. 26, 2026
