Phoenix selected to develop regional plan to attract...

Phoenix metro has been selected to develop a regional plan to attract and leverage foreign direct investment, building off its existing Greater Phoenix Export Plan as part of the Global Cities Initiative, a joint-project of the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase. Phoenix was selected for its readiness and commitment to strategically pursue foreign direct investment through such activities as greenfield expansions, mergers and acquisitions, and other types of foreign investment including EB-5, private equity, joint-ventures and sovereign wealth funds.“Since the early part of the 2000s, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council has made international business development a strong part of our business attraction and market growth strategy,” said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of GPEC. “The eagerness of our leaders to develop a forward-thinking plan will continue to advance the region in the global economy.”Read the full release here.

DoubleDutch to open new office in Phoenix

DoubleDutch, a San Francisco-based leading global provider of mobile event apps, announced its expansion to Phoenix. DoubleDutch plans to add 30 employees to the regional office by the end of the year, using the new location to support the company’s accelerated business momentum. Carlisle companies corporate headquarters moving to...

Carlisle Companies Incorporated, a $3.5 billion global manufacturer and Fortune 1000 company, will relocate its Corporate Headquarters to Kierland One in Phoenix this year. GPEC President and CEO named to national economic policy...

GPEC President and CEO Chris Camacho has been named to the newly formed Economic Innovation Group Policy Council, joining nearly a dozen national leaders. The Economic Innovation Group, based in Washington, D.C., is an advocacy organization whose mission is to empower entrepreneurs and investors to build a more dynamic U.S. economy. “It is an incredible honor to be named to the Economic Innovation Group Policy Council,” said Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The members of the Council are some of the sharpest minds in the country, with incredible backgrounds that will lend to critical thinking around apolitical policies that foster innovative growth in our country. Galvanize announces plans to expand to Phoenix with...

Galvanize, a technology education company that trains students in software development and data science, announced plans today to expand to the Phoenix area in partnership with the city of Phoenix and Allstate Insurance Company. Planned to open next year, Galvanize will train more than 100 software developers in 2016, with Allstate already committing to hiring 100-150 eligible graduates of the program."Greater Phoenix is seeing a lot of interest from the tech industry, which is creating quite the buzz nationally for the market. Having locally grown tech companies such as WebPT elevates the market's notoriety across the U.S. We could not be more excited to see Galvanize expand to the Warehouse District," said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. Silicon Valley-based technology company Gainsight has announced an expansion to Greater Phoenix, AZ.

Gainsight expands operations to Phoenix

Silicon Valley-based technology company Gainsight has announced an expansion to Phoenix. The company, focused on customer success, will headquarter its corporate marketing at the 111 W. Monroe building in downtown Phoenix. Gainsight was named 48th on this year’s Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing private companies list, recording a 252% year-over-year growth in the past quarter. “This movement of fast-growing tech companies, such as Gainsight, expanding out of California is ultimately tied to the availability of a skilled workforce and strong tech culture in the Greater Phoenix region,” said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “We are excited to Gainsight continue its growth in this market, further adding to the next generation of tech in Greater Phoenix.” Read the full release.

Cenlar FSB expands nationally with Arizona facility

November 19, 2015

Cenlar FSB, a privately-owned wholesale savings bank and the nation’s leading loan servicing provider, will be opening its first location outside of New Jersey with a West Coast Operations Center in Tempe. Cenlar is actively recruiting for the facility, planning to hire 460 employees by the end of year one. “The Greater Phoenix region is outpacing the national average in growth in the financial services industry, which is evident with the announcement from Cenlar to expand to Tempe with a new West Coast Operations Center,” said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “We have a strong, skilled workforce in the region that is ready and prepared for the several hundred new jobs this exciting announcement brings.” Read the full release here.

Stitch Fix to open fourth distribution center in Phoenix

September 24, 2015

Stitch Fix, an online personal styling service, announced plans to open its fourth U.S. distribution center in Phoenix in November. The company currently operates three other distribution centers in San Francisco, Indianapolis and Dallas. Stitch Fix plans to hire up to 600 employees for its 365,000-square-foot facility.  “Stitch Fix is an exciting and dynamic company whose entrance into the market adds to the growing inventory of innovative companies in the region,” said Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The new operation in Phoenix will provide them with increased access to their growing customer base, as well as access to a robust workforce to fill the hundreds of new jobs this expansion brings.”Read the full release here.

GPEC board of directors named for 2015-2016

 The Greater Phoenix Economic Council announced eight new members to join its Board of Directors for the 2016 fiscal year. The new members were approved by the full Board at the September Annual Meeting. “The representation from business and elected leaders on the GPEC Board is emblematic of the mission of GPEC in being a truly public-private partnership,” said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The addition of these new leaders to GPEC’s Board will further enhance the dialogue on advancing the region’s economy, leading to an aggressive, strategic pathway for positive community impact.”  For a list of the new Board members, read the full release.
