As the Marketing & Communications Intern, Elitsa supports the team by monitoring and organizing marketing requests within the project management system, building event and presentation decks, and with copywriting projects such as blog posts, messaging documents and website content editing, in addition to other marketing and communications duties.
Elitsa’s background lies in academic research, and she brings her diverse work experience from non-profit, public, and private entities for the promotion of culture and science to her role at GPEC. Originally from Bulgaria, Elitsa has lived in Arizona for five years, but she has already witnessed how sustainable economic development in the state drives research and innovative solutions for social and environmental issues. Elitsa holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and a Master of Science degree in Tourism, Heritage & Sustainability. Elitsa is currently completing a Digital Marketing Specialization, where she is gaining knowledge and practical experience in social media, email and content marketing strategy and campaign development, SEO copywriting and website optimization.
Elitsa’s hobbies overlap with her interests in wetland restoration, nature conservation and sustainable development, and she can be regularly seen birdwatching, hiking, and exploring and safeguarding Arizona’s wilderness.
